DIN Registration
DIN (Director Identification Number) is a unique 8-digit number issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to an individual who wishes to become a director in an Indian company. It acts like a permanent ID for directors and is mandatory for anyone being appointed as a director in a Private Limited, Public Limited, or One Person Company (OPC).
How to Apply for DIN:
- First-time directors apply through Form SPICe+ while incorporating a new company.
- For individuals being added as directors to an existing company, DIN is applied via Form DIR-3.
- The application must be submitted online along with:
- PAN & Aadhaar (for Indian citizens) or passport (for foreign nationals)
- Photograph, digital signature (DSC), and identity/address proof
- Board resolution (if applying through an existing company)
- Once approved, the DIN is valid for a lifetime and is used for all company filings involving the director.
