What is DIR-3 KYC?
DIR-3 KYC is a mandatory annual form that every individual holding a Director Identification Number (DIN) must file with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to confirm their personal details.
It helps the government keep an up-to-date and verified database of directors across all Indian companies.
Who Needs to File DIR-3 KYC?
Anyone who has a DIN status as ‘Approved’ (including disqualified directors) as on 31st March of the financial year must file DIR-3 KYC by 30th September of that year.

1) DIR-3 KYC (Form-based)

2) DIR-3 KYC Web
⇒ For directors who have already filed DIR-3 KYC once and whose details remain unchanged
⇒ A simple online verification process via MCA portal
Information Required:
- Director’s full name, PAN, DOB, and contact details
- Valid mobile number and email ID (verified via OTP)
- Permanent and present address
- Copy of PAN, Aadhaar, Passport (if applicable)
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
Penalty for Non-Filing:
- If not filed by the deadline, DIN is deactivated with reason "Non-filing of DIR-3 KYC"
- Late filing will attract a ₹5,000 penalty, and the DIN will only be reactivated after payment
